Nilaya Retreats

Nilaya  ·  निलय

Sanskrit  ·  noun  ·  "home", "dwelling", "abode" — from roots meaning resting and settling down. A place of peace, refuge, and belonging.

Come home
to yourself.

Nilaya — Sanskrit for home — is a small, intimate retreat experience designed to bring you back to you. A space to breathe, to rest, to move gently, and to remember who you are beneath all the noise of everyday life. You deserve this.

What is a Nilaya Retreat?

Sometimes life doesn't just feel busy — it feels relentless. And somewhere in the middle of everything you have to do, everything you have to be, for everyone else... you get a little lost.

A Nilaya Retreat is an invitation to step away from all of it. Not to perform, not to push, not to achieve — simply to arrive. To breathe. To rest deeply. To move in a way that feels good in your body. To sit in stillness without guilt. To eat well, sleep well, and spend time with people who completely understand that sometimes you just need to put yourself first.

These retreats are small and intentional, built around genuine nourishment for your mind, body, and spirit. Whether you've been practising yoga for years or you've never stepped on a mat before, there is a place for you here. All you need to bring is yourself.

Upcoming Retreats

Each retreat is kept small and intentional — spaces are limited. If something is calling to you, I'd encourage you to listen to it.

Who is this for?

"If you've been thinking 'I really need a break' — this is your sign."

These retreats are for anyone who needs to press pause. You don't need to be a seasoned yogi. You don't need to be flexible, fit, or have any experience at all. Nilaya is for the person who is running on empty and knows — knows — that something needs to change. It's for the overwhelmed parent, the stressed professional, the person going through a transition, the one who has quietly been putting themselves last for far too long.

Whether you're coming alone, with a friend, or simply with a bag and a quiet hope for rest, you will be warmly welcomed exactly as you are.

Meet Your Guide

Tiffany

Hi, I'm Tiffany — and I'll be your guide and host for the retreat.

I opened The Den Yoga Studio in Wigan back in 2019 because I wanted to create something that felt different. Not a performance space, not a place where you have to be a certain size or shape or level — just a genuinely warm, nurturing space where everyone feels welcome. Over six years of running the studio, that mission has only deepened.

I'm a fully qualified yoga teacher (200hr), with specialist training in Pregnancy Yoga and TeenYoga, and years of experience teaching people at every stage of life. But honestly, what I love most isn't the credentials — it's watching someone who arrived feeling lost or tense or overwhelmed leave standing a little taller, breathing a little easier.

At a Nilaya Retreat, I will look after you. I'll guide you through each session with patience and care, adapt everything to suit your needs, and make sure the space feels as safe and welcoming as possible. We'll have a cuppa, we'll breathe together, and I promise — by the time you leave, you'll feel more like yourself again.

What people say

"Say Yes, before you can say No! I am a regular retreater home and abroad. These are special times that you carve out for yourself, a chance to be "You" — not a wife, not a mum, not a cleaner! Just to rediscover who you are. If you haven't been on retreat before, cast aside your fears and take a leap of faith."

Kathy — Spain 2024, India 2026 & many UK retreats

"I would highly recommend Nilaya retreats. I was able to explore my yoga practice in more depth through longer practices, different yoga styles and workshops — all while being individually guided by the amazing Tiffany. However, it's not all about the yoga. I spent time with a wonderful group sharing laughs and conversation, incredible food, local cultures and activities, all whilst staying in an unforgettable idyllic venue."

Katie — India 2024 & many UK retreats

"I was nervous about booking on a retreat but really wanted to do something just for me. I didn't know anyone going and was quite new to yoga so it was a huge leap into the unknown. It's one of the best things I've ever done & I'm so proud of myself for putting myself first and realising that's not a bad thing. As with all of Tiffany's teaching, you take what you need from every class and the space to connect with people is there, with respect if you want quiet. I've had some of my best conversations on retreat and made some wonderful friends. The range of yoga practice is heavenly and the food fabulous. I don't even see retreats as spoiling myself now, more essential self care. I don't hesitate in recommending Nilaya retreats — they're a little slice of heaven."

Mandy — many UK retreats

"I booked my first retreat at a time when I was beginning to really understand the value of self-care and making space for myself. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I loved the experience so much that when a space became available on one of the long-haul retreats, I didn't hesitate to book! Having now been on both a UK retreat and a week-long retreat abroad, what I love most is that there's no pressure to experience it in a particular way. There's time to connect with others, but also time to simply be yourself, slow down and take whatever you need from the experience. The yoga practices are deeply grounding and can be as gentle or as challenging as you want them to be. Add in amazing food, beautiful surroundings and a group of people who have all come away looking for something similar, and there's something really special about it. I've come home from both retreats with wonderful memories, new friendships and, most importantly, feeling like I've properly filled my own cup. Sometimes giving yourself permission to step away from everyday life and put yourself first for a few days is exactly what you need. And perhaps the best testimonial I can give is that I've already booked another two retreats over the next two years!"
